Honda City Look
As appealing and sporty as it could get, the Honda City 2017 is worked on Advanced Energetic Design which plays a pivotal role behind the sleek and attractive appearance. It is built as an epitome of high technology and high sturdiness in every bit.Coming to the front end, the thick chrome strip stands out, especially with the way it flows into the steep headlamps clusters on both the ends. The front bumper is sharp and houses fog lamps, which are placed in a black plastic-cladded mesh design. The side section holds a sharp line running across the length of the car. The Honda City ZX trim gets bigger 16-inch alloy wheels while all the other variants get 15-inch wheels. The ORVMs get turn indicators installed on them.
Get to the rear end of the sedan and you will find that the attractiveness is carried well and fine. The split tail lights are extremely sleek. There is a shark fin antenna at the roof end. The top section of the bootlid gets a spoiler like design. However, the muscularity on the rear end is dominated by the rear bumper that houses reflectors on the two sides of the same mesh designed lip. The exclusive Honda City colours available are – White Orchid Pearl, Carnelian Red Pearl, Alabaster Silver, Golden Brown Metallic and Modern Steel Metallic.
Honda City Comfort
The new Honda City keeps the best bits of the interiors intact with some new add-ons that uplift its premium quotient. The car is offered with top-notch gadgetry and various other features. Inside the cabin, the craftsmanship exemplifies the Man-Maximum and Machine minimum philosophy. The strength of this car lies in its uber spacious cabin which provides the ample legroom for the passengers’ comfort and an ergonomically designed cockpit with rear AC vents making the ride truly elegant.
The black-beige-silver combination used in the cabin has increased the premium image of the car helping it plug the quality gap. Steering wheel with mounted audio controls gets the added benefit of reach adjustment for getting that perfect driving position. Same goes for the sunroof which now gets a nice touch operated functionality for convenience.Connectivity is a buzzword today and Honda has perfectly addressed this demand with the new 7-inch touchscreen unit called as ‘Digipad’ offering WiFi, Mirror Link smartphone connectivity with navigation, 2 USB slots, 1.5 GB onboard storage, 2 micro SD card slot as well as the option for HDMI. Other features included in the vehicle are Auto AC with touch control panel, height adjustable driver’s seat is, engine start-stop and Honda Smart Key System.
Honda City Gearbox
The new Honda City features the same engine options that are seen on the outgoing generation of the sedan. It is powered by a 1.5 litre petrol and a 1.5 diesel engine, of which the 1.5 litre i-VTEC engine delivers 117 hp of power and 145 Nm of torque, while the 1.5 litre i-DTEC units produces 99 hp and 200 Nm. Similar to the current generation, the petrol engine is paired to a 5-speed manual and a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) automatic transmission with paddle shifters and the diesel variants gets a 6-speed manual gearbox. The engine is smooth and offers enough power to move around the car effortlessly. The CVT gearbox too is unchanged from the older version and is one of the better CVT units on sale right now. That said, the gearbox exhibits the trademark rubber-band effect wherein the engine makes a lot of sound in proportion to the increase in speed. Since the drive was short, we couldn’t measure fuel-efficiency but the on-board computer showed a figure of 15.3 km/l, with most of the drive done in city traffic.
Honda City Rideing
The specifications of Honda City are so configured that the car offers a wonderful and pleasant drive on both city roads as well as the expressway. The petrol car is powerful for you to cruise at high speeds while the diesel version has a much-needed grunt that gets the accelerator pedal to be highly responsive. The sedan can be powered to a top speed of well over the 160 km/hour mark and can do the 0-100 km/hour round in just a 10 seconds. The radial tubeless tyres provides ample road grip and stability. It is suspended over MacPherson Strut for the front wheel and Torsion Beam for the rear.
Honda City Safety
Honda City for better braking experience introduced a welcome move, ABS along with EBD has been provided as standard across the range. Hyundai also offers dual front airbags and ISOFIX child seats as standard while the top end variant gets 6 airbags, rear parking camera, rain sensing wipers and auto headlamps with auto-off timer.

Honda City Bottomline
Based on the Honda City price, the sedan is one of the best offerings in the segment. At the time when the Honda City car images had appeared on the internet, we weren’t expecting much of a difference over the last generation. The car is finely tuned for the city roads. But make no mistake, despite being a car that has always belonged to the city, the car has a good love for the highways as well. The engine is powerful and you won’t feel the roughness anytime during the high-speed drive.
